[TOMT][PC][90s] 2D DOS Platformer – Bubble Attack, Castle Level, Ride a Bike in Boss Fight (Spacebar-based)
I'm trying to identify an old 2D side-scrolling DOS platformer I played in the late 90s or early 2000s on a Windows PC (probably through a compilation CD like 1001 Games for Windows or similar). It could’ve been a shareware title.
🎮 Key things I remember:
The game was a DOS or early Windows side-scroller, similar in style to Jazz Jackrabbit, Claw, Dangerous Dave, Hocus Pocus, etc.
The first or second level was set in a castle environment.
The attack key was the spacebar, and I’m fairly sure you held it down to charge up a bubble-like projectile (maybe not exactly a bubble, but it looked soft, round).
During one of the first boss fights, you are given a bicycle to ride. The boss was fought while riding this bike, and:
Tapping the spacebar made the bicycle pedal.
The faster you pressed spacebar, the faster your character rode.
It was a quirky but fun mechanic that appeared only during the boss fight.
Might’ve had a silly/fun vibe like Earthworm Jim or Cool Spot, but not as well-known.
Other notes:
I only had a PC at the time, no consoles.
The title might’ve had “Bubble” or “2D” in it, but I’m not sure.
I’ve played Jazz Jackrabbit 2, Claw, Cool Spot, Earthworm Jim, Dangerous Dave, Prince of Persia, and Hocus Pocus — it’s not any of those.
Any help is appreciated — I’ve been trying to remember this game for years!
