Farm animals being buggy?

Hey everyone, I've been playing since just after the full release, but since the updates I've been having some issues. I also recently started a new map so at first I wasn't sure if it's a bug or just something I'm not aware of. I was also wondering if it is maybe the layout of my animal pen? It's quite a long relatively narrow pen, one end has all the dens and the other the feed trays, the have to walk through an narrowing that I put an animal shower in to get from the one side to the other.

So some of the bugs/problems I've experienced:

Is there a certain number of blocks that are loaded? For example if I see them in the distance they are often not moving.

Some animals don't register that there were shelters for them, especially the pleeps so their wool didn't grow.

Sometimes the animals don't go to eat.

Can't milk some of the vombats.

Haven't seen any issues with the chooks.

Anyone else experience this?
