Best way to learn 3BLD memorization?

Hello! I am trying to learn 3BLD, and one of my hardest things is the memorization. Cannot for the life of me understand the whole ‘lettering system’ thing. Everytime I look at the cube I cannot visualize letters for each piece color. does anyone have any tips?
