Fair bed allocation at house stay?

Hello! I was hoping to get some guidance on how best to handle logistics here. I’m hosting a group of (8) girls for a 1-night stay this summer. This was to save money, as we are in a VHCOL city.

This is a 3-bedroom, 2-bath flat:

  • Bedroom 1 has a queen-sized bed, and room for a twin-sized air mattress
  • Bedroom 2 has a full-sized bed, and room for a floor cot
  • Bedroom 3 has a full-sized bed, but no room for another mattress

There are also (2) couches in the sitting room that are long enough to sleep (1) person each.

I’m already planning to set up a sleeping pad/bag for myself to max out the available beds, but I realize that these arrangements are really not necessarily equitable—folks on the couches will have to go to bed the latest, 2x people might not want to share the queen bed, etc. If we were paying for it I’d just split the bed shares based on desirability, but since nobody is paying it feels hard to allocate. Thankfully, it’s only for one night.

Do you have any suggestions on how to approach who gets what? My first thought was to send out a poll asking for more info from guests (if they’re ok sleeping on a couch, if they’re okay doubling up), and to work from there … but they might all say they don’t want a particular arrangement? My second thought was to ask the bride for more input.

TIA!
