help me decide between transferring to USC and BU
i was accepted as a sophomore transfer for both. i'm majoring in econ at CAS for both and want to work in consulting in new york. BU is 50k and USC is 100k which is a significant factor. if price were not a factor i would definitely choose USC but i am wondering if the pros of USC make it worth double the price. (i also got into emory for 70k but ruled that out.) thanks for any help!
BU
pros
- cheaper
- can study abroad and join a sorority without worrying about cost
- closer to home
- don’t need a car
- in the city
- better econ dept?
- network on east coast
cons
- housing
- cold
- everyone wishes they went somewhere else
- overly competitive because of other boston schools
- grade deflation
- worse student life
- less “prestigious” / maybe not a target school
USC
pros
- warm weather
- school spirit, "work hard play hard"
- campus
cons
- so expensive
- snobby
- less transfer friendly
- the school is separated by greek life?
- hard without car
- clubs are competitive / exclude transfers sometimes
- "wrong coast"
