ae2 not playing nice with gregtech [atm9]

I am getting into GregTech, and I am using AE2 to craft most of the stuff. For some reason, however, the hammers, occasionally other tools, keep getting locked into the ME system and stop the autocrafting. I've searched for an answer but haven't found one yet
