German Citizenship by descent--I think I qualify but help is appreciated

Hello everyone. I am interested in getting my German citizenship due to the current US political climate. Any help or insight is appreciated.

Grandmother

• born in 1938 in Berlin, Germany
• emigrated in 1960 to United States (unsure date of emigration)
• married in 1960 in Berlin to US Army soldier
• naturalization applied for in 1963

mother (never obtained German citizenship)

• born 1961 in wedlock on US Military Base in West Germany
• married in 1982 in United States

self

• born in 1983 in wedlock in US

Grandmother is still alive but I am unsure how helpful she will/can be. I currently do not have a copy of her birth certificate, but did find her US naturalization application on Ancestry.com.

Can anyone help navigate to get her birth certificate? What proof would I need to provide?
