Olanzapine would be the perfect medication for me if it didn’t make me gain a bunch of weight

Whenever my anxiety and/or paranoia start getting really bad, olanzapine fixes me. I first took olanzapine to come out of a really bad psychotic episode I was in and we had to take me off it because I gained 100 pounds.

My anxiety has been god awful lately so my psychiatrist put me on a really low dose (2.5) to take along side my Latuda and other meds. Literally the day I took it, all the noise in my head shut up.

But I’m eating like crazy again. I’ve gained 10 pounds in the last 2 months. I skipped a few days because I was upset over the weight gain and almost spiraled. I need my olanzapine. It’s perfect for me except the weight gain.

I’m waiting on approval from my insurance for Zepbound. I hope I get it so that I can keep taking my olanzapine.
