Recs on a whole-house water filtration system that we can install into our main line?

Basically hoping to make our bathing and washing water less hard, less chlorinated. I would then add an under the sink reverse osmosis device in our kitchen for our drinking and cooking water. I realize there are probably Fourth of July sales I could take advantage of if I figure out what to buy before the end of the day! Thank you!
