Newbie considering rubber/bristlenose pleco in 28 gal with betta - any opinions?

I’ve currently got my betta in a 10 gallon with some shrimps and snails, but I’m sure she’d love more swimming space and the shrimps would be happier without a fish around them. So I’m considering moving her and am looking into some fish tankmates. I will cycle the tank before adding any fish.

I got a ~28 US gal (about 30L x 12W x 18H inches) which is too small for most plecos, but I think it could be suitable for rubber and bristlenose types? But maybe it’s just too small and it would be best if I chose a different fish instead.

I am a little concerned about potential algae buildup which is part of the reason I’m considering plecos over more common picks like tetras.

If anyone has any opinions, please let me know!
