Things that haunt me, 30+ years later.

I was working in a convince store in western Colorado while studying at a community college in early 1990s. There was a girl whom I'd seen around campus and stopped in the store. I don't remember if she was getting gas or snacks or a drink. She was pretty, very blond curly hair like Meg Ryan at time. She was a little younger than me so I felt embarrassed to asked her out. I figured she was driving to the base of the local prominent mountain and going hiking. Then she went missing for several days. There where search party's looking for her and even someone was using an ultralight aircraft to find her. And they did. I imagine it was a beautiful view. I don't know what she was fighting. I wonder what would have changed if I'd flirted with her or asked for her number. My heart aches not knowing if their world could have been a better place.
