the show has lost so much without Carrie's narration

I remember reading (maybe here) that her dictated texts were meant to be the replacement for Carrie's periodic narration from the original series. That was a terrible idea to begin with but...that's also stopped?

A lot of people have pointed out the wonky editing. Carrie's narration would help transition the scenes! I assume it was dropped because...laziness?
