I Could Not Care Less About how Much Money any Movie Makes

I'm just so tired of movie discussion inevitably becoming about how much a movie made, or whether it "underperformed" or trying to act like a movie making or not making money has any relevance whatsoever to your personal enjoyment of it.

Unless you worked on the damn thing, why does it matter to you? Did Mikey Madison's paycheck for Anora in some way affect your ability to connect to her character? Did Thunderbolts maybe not making its money back "according to experts" have any impact on the story or filmaking at all?

It feels so obvious to me that it doesn't matter, movies that didn't make money in the theatre are considered classics all the time, but whether it's irl or online I feel like every film discussion inevitably and quickly becomes "dang, that movie made billions, it was so good" or "Oof, box office bomb. Trash movie."
