Elimar (a hot weather rant)

I’ve just gotten a real good look at this so-called rediscovered Van Gogh and Im just pissed the fuck off!

What garbage I think. And then I can’t help but think “why?”. You have to be a sheister or a complete idiot to look at that stupidity and say to yourself - “this is the genius of Van Gogh!!!

As a young girl, before I knew what the word artist meant I had already had an instinctive response to maybe “starry night” but likely one of his self portraits. The artist who cut off his ear.

Even in the 50s Van Gogh was synonymous w Rembrandt as one of the world’s greatest artists. Before I really knew of any of the others who paved the way for all of us, I knew enough about him that he had space in my existence. And once I actually laid eyes on a canvas, the total experience of textural and visual genius in the detail, perfect composition and exquisite vision. The astounding color and exquisite brushwork.

And today, this garbage, this cheesy bullshit Elimar.
