How do i make taste of tobacco shaper, or find what i like in smoking

Question

Hi, I always bought tobacco based on what my father bought. It was great most of the time, but terrible sometimes.Luckily, he doesn't smoke anymore, but I do.

I have no information about tobacco topic. Older seller had up and downs in last years so im not sure to buy from them again to roll dice on my short budget. I bought 500 grams of tobacco that recommended on net (I've run out of the older one) and made a pack, but it tastes like coffee. It's less sharp but has a more stifling feeling, like it's suffocating, not worth smoking. It's legal and branded in my country, but I didn't like the feel at all.

I asked father today, and he said, "We always bought the same light tobacco from the same merchant. You sometimes complained, but it's all about how they preserved it until selling."

I don't know how to explain the taste of tobacco I liked; "sharper" is the only word I can use to describe it. Maybe the ones I used were dry, so I thought and tried to dry some of the current one. It did not give me what I'm looking for.

So, to you experts:

How i can find what im looking for other than buy and try everything on the planet

Does a more suffocating feeling mean stronger tobacco?

Is dryer tobacco really the solution, or am I going the wrong way?

Can i somehow fix current tobacco to my liking ? im bit short on budget so would be nice to "save" it

So this "older" newbie doesnt know which way he should go.
