The worst part about never having been in a relationship when you’re 20+
The worst part about never having been in a relationship when you’re 20 or older is being weird about intimacy. Once you actually even find someone that likes you back (which feels rare and hard enough on its own), you guys can get along and stuff, but once you want to get the ball rolling you realize that you’re painfully awkward and weird about being intimate. And once the ball does get rolling, it doesn’t really get easier. Even if it’s not true, it’s hard not to believe that when things don’t go well, it’s because of my awkwardness. It’s even more difficult when it’s someone you really like and don’t want to lose. I try not to think about it and not put pressure on myself or them but it’s hard. Every time there’s even a glimpse of something that could mean they’re not interested, I just can’t not think about how it’s my fault. I feel so hopeless; when will it get easier 😞.
