Middle School Manga Suggestions

Hello everyone, I’m a middle school teacher and run the Anime Club at my school. I am also trying to build a library in my classroom of basically only manga. We have a rather expansive library at our school now, but there is not much to offer on the manga front, so I thought I could fill that gap. I also thought I should come to the experts because, being one person, am often subject to my own personal bias about the types of stories I like.

Here are some parameters for the manga:

-Must be appropriate for ages 11-14 -Must not contain nudity (Sailor Moon transformation nudity is ok) or sexual scenes -Fighting is okay but scenes may not be too graphic or gorey -Examples of manga that has been banned by the school district: One Piece volume 4 (not sure why, I suspect it may be the fight scene in the Baratie arc), Fairytale, Bleach -Examples of manga that are in the school library or are otherwise “approved”: Tsubasa, My Hero Academia, Legend of Zelda -Ten to fifteen book series are great because it is not an enormous investment to get all the books in the series, as I fund this library almost entirely by myself.

I have a larger proportion of Shojo manga. I am lacking in sports manga. I find it is difficult to find Shonen manga that does not become to violent or make too many inappropriate jokes for a classroom library.

P.S. If you have any tips on ensuring the books return to the shelf, please share. I’ve accepted that sometimes my wallet takes the L, but there are many responsible students who return the books.
