would you choose career over love?

I'm gonna make it short. Imagine you're in the 2016 movie La La Land.

Imagine you're in love, found the right person for you, you match eachother well like Mia and Seb did, you have ups and downs of course like everyone else, and you're already thinking how nice it would be to grow old with this person.

Here comes the issue. You have an opportunity to study phd in a bigger and better country, have a successful career, earn 6 figures, BUT your partner can't follow. Of course they have their own dreams, family, mother land.

So, you NEED to leave, and your partner NEEDS to stay.

Would you choose career and have a bitter-sweet (let's face it, more bitter) La La Land ending?

Or would you choose love? The nice happy alternate ending? Just let go of all those dreams and look for new ones?
