AITAH for beating up my brother after he broke my multiple thousand dollar laptop?
So for some context, I (m14) am always arguing and fighting with my brother (m10) because almost everything that i have, he wants.
There have been multiple times that he's whined and cried that i have stuff he doesn't have, and that I work hard for it
He's always crying that he wants to use my computer or my Xbox or guitar or anything I have he doesn't. Every time he does, I tell him no because he doesn't know how to take care of stuff without breaking it, and my mom always tells me to let him use it. It pretty much always goes like this
Brother- "Can I play a game on your Xbox" Me- "No you broke my controller last week" Brother- "Mom he's not letting me" Mom- "Let him play a game" Me- "No he's always breaking my expensive stuff" Mom- "Give him one more chance or you're grounded" Brother- Breaks multiple hundred dollar controller/headphones/tv
It's happened with my TV, my guitar, my PC, my drum kit, my collectible decorations, pokemon cards, tools, bike, and lots of other things. It gets to a point
Anyways, back to the laptop. I recently saved up for and bought a gaming laptop, an Asus ROG Zephyrus G16, and it cost 2700 dollars. When it arrived, I explicitly told my mom that my brother will NOT be playing on it because I'm tired of him breaking my stuff and this is one of the most expensive things I've ever bought, and she promised me that he wouldn't play on it.
This was about a month ago. 2 days ago my brother finally popped the question, "can I play Roblox on your laptop" and my heart dropped. He's broken Chromebooks before because of raging on Roblox multiple times, and I knew what was going to happen.
Again, my mom screamed at me that I have no choice, and that he will be playing Roblox on my laptop. I told him, you have one hour, and after you get off and never touch my laptop again. And if you break it, I'm gonna beat your ass.
He said fine, I won't break it, and I installed Roblox for him to play. About 30 minutes later I hear him scream in his room and slam the computer shut and start hitting it repeatedly. I run into his room and he's in there beating on my laptop like it owes him money.
I push him off and take it away and go to my room to make sure it still works. The keyboard and screen shattered and part of the frame was cracked. I walk back into his room and just started wailing on this kid, I didn't stop for maybe 20 minutes.
Anyways, he has a black eye, a broken nose and lots of bruises all over his face and arms. My entire family is trying to convince me that I'm in the wrong but this kid has probably cost me damn near 20 thousand dollars in broken stuff. I'm tired of it and I'm tired of him
So, AITAH?
