It is the state known as NC

Home to many people including you and me

On a level politically it's swingy

Either party has a chance

Democrat Republican voters give both a glance

Then came Obama and Republicans got into a frenzy

He was progressive and inspired many people down to gen z

The affordable Care act passed and Republicans pants they crapped

Then something inside of them snapped

The tea party was brewing and once again Republicans are ruining something from our history

Like they love America but they tarnish the names of stuff what a mystery

But the tea party was growing and managed to turn the tide

Anti-obama momentum they Ride and like that our Democrat dominance died

In 2010 they sweep the legislature

They made moves to keep themselves in power for forever

The 11th district was once fair and competitive Then Republicans decided to do some self-pandering

They claim to hate the Chinese but they love the guy named Jerry Mandarin

And redrawn was that district it then skirted Asheville like it was Drake in hotline bling

Pro-democracy people saw it and said "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS THING?!!?"

Then the Roberts Baron Court gutted the voting Rights act

Then strict voter ID laws got passed

The courts intervened and said "this discriminates against African Americans to the point of surgical precision"

And just like that it was over despite the scotus's neutering of the provision

Obamacare made 600k people eligible for Medicaid Tom Tillis stepped in and said "hell no" affordable healthcare I fear

Ironically that same amount of people losing their health care in NC would make Tom Tillis sacrifice his career

Then came 2016 and the anti-lgbt monster known as hb2

The whole damn country said "WHAT THE FUCK DUDE"

It was so bad it helped Cooper take the governor's mansion

The Republican legislature saw that and said "we must prevent the governor's power from expanding"

So they cut off his balls and left him with little power at all

Then the gerrymandering continued and continued and it got up to the supreme Court

In rvcc they said federal courts couldn't strike down partisan gerrymandering "it's not our business not mine or theirs it belongs to you not me"

They left it to the States but that became a problem when our courts got stacked

Seriously that decision was whack

Then once again the gerrymandering got them in trouble

It's like they left Fair elections a pile of rubble

They redraw the districts so much their pencil was blunter not sharper

When I got up to the supreme Court in the case "Moore V Harper"

NC lawmakers argued: you should be able to control elections redistricting voting laws and presidential election slates. Our governors or state courts checks be damned

If this was approved it would upend democracy and allow Republicans to take minoritarian rule and make our elections a sham

It was so bad even the Roberts Baron Court said no

And now they've stolen the board and given it to the auditor which is just bullshit

Luckily they lost their veto proof majority in the house so kiss my tits

This legal battle is still ongoing but it is good at

showing the folly of the reds

Give them more power and our democracy might be dead

So stay alert stay vigilant

And make sure Republicans don't remain malignant
