Should I Double major in communications & sociology?

I’m a 27M and I have my associates degree in communication studies and transferred to San Francisco State University to get my bachelor’s in the same subject. The plan was to become a journalist or work in PR/Marketing. However, since being in SF, I’ve gained an interest in nonprofit work, specifically LGBTQ advocacy and sex education. Next school year is supposed to be my last year. However, I’m getting cold feet in terms of my overall interest and how my COMM degree alone won’t satisfy the work in the field I want to be in.

So I’m considering adding a double major in Sociology to give me an edge on applying for nonprofit jobs along with PR/marketing. This just means I’ll be adding an extra year of school since I already took a few units In sociology as electives. I was going to get my masters in sociology or Human Sexuality instead, but I didn’t want to waste time and money when most of the careers I want don’t require a masters. Ultimately should I do a double major for job prospects?
