Does anyone else feel like life ended after covid or at the very least - there's a profound "Before and after" feeling that comes to mind?

What a well worded title, right? LOL. Life didn't end and of course we should carry on, but "life as we knew it" ended. The old world retired.

I was thinking about this today and it really spooked me. I long for the way the world was many years ago and couldn't figure out why. WHAT is it about these memories that I long for? They're unremarkable, insipid, devoid of excitement... But I miss them. Going to a pet store which has now since closed. A small market I used to frequent where I purchased my Yankee candles from - Gone... Steamrolled and redesigned into a new and rather hideous strip mall. Each and every store is name brand.

I suppose I'm feeling this way because what's missing is the old world. It's not about the pet store, it's not about which scented candle I bought... the world changed.

Clearly this has topic / idea has been covered to the point of exhaustion but I'd love to hear some thoughts on it. After 2020, even my most lucid days feel foggy compared to pre-covid.
