Upgrading Weapons: Chroma Catalysts or Polished Chroma Catalyst

Okay so can you only upgrade weapons with POLISHED chroma catalysts, and not just plain old chroma catalysts?

The first time I went to do a weapons upgrade, it ate up the polished chroma catalyst, but when I tried clicking on another weapon to upgrade, the option to upgrade it wasn't popping up? I kept clicking on the weapon but couldn't get the prompt or option to upgrade.

I'm on PC btw, NOT using a controller, so I don't know if it's a key I'm not pressing or not clicking something right or not but I would like to upgrade more than one weapon ive got at least 22x chroma catalysts (not polished, again, just regular ones).
