Change of Career - HR?
Hi all,
First time poster on here! I am a bit stuck. I have worked for over 9 years in retail/hospitality from entry level to middle management. I was thinking of completing an MSC in Human Resource Management - one with a placement option preferably in order to aid a change in career, I know experience trumps degrees from my own working background. Have any posters here been to a Glasgow based university or even Stirling Uni to complete this? Im Scottish, in my late twenties and based in Glasgow btw for context. I see GCU seem to offer some kind of placement element to the course, however I have not heard great things about the uni in general. Stirling also seems another quite practical based contender but I'm not too sure. My first degree was at Glasgow Uni, unrelated in English Lit, but to be honest their HR masters sounds a complete scam and waste of money with those ridiculously high fees. Alternatively, am I better perhaps getting the CIPD 3 or 5 and then trying my hand at the job hunting?
Is HR still a relatively stable industry to get into with the rise of AI? I would think so, but it would be nice to hear from those actually in industry!
All kind advice welcome! Thank you guys in advance as well for taking time to respond, I really appreciate it.
