Shark CarpetXpert making carpet worse?

I recently purchased the Shark Carpet Xpert Hair Pro. The first couple of passes seemed okay, then the unit started pushing dirt around? I vacuumed before hand. It seemed like the dry only mode made it even worse and now my carpet looks WAY worse than it did before…
