How to get into raising cattle?

I have raised lambs for the past few years for 4-H, but I’m not interested in raising sheep in the future. I want to get into raising cattle, my family own a cattle ranch so I’d ask my older brother of I can keep mine with his and use his brand (I’m not old enough to get my own). I need to know how much I should expect to spend vs. the profit margin. It would also be handy to know how much I should put aside for emergency at bills, etc. I’m not new to raising animals, but any advice on raising cattle would be very much appreciated
