How are you getting GLP-1s?

Advice

Sleeved in December 2023 and made it down to about 190 lbs (from a heaviest of 378), but my weight hasn’t budged in about 7+ months and in fact has started crawling in the opposite direction. Worse still, the food issues/noise are back with a vegeance and making it really difficult to even just exist. I’ve been miserable.

I made an appointment with my bariatric team and explained that the food noise was overwhelming and I was really struggling. They suggested the possibility of starting a GLP-1, which honestly sounded hopeful… but then in the next breath said I very likely wouldn’t be approved for it because of my current weight/BMI and lack of Diabetes diagnosis. That was tough to hear. I have a documented history of so much other stuff (eating disorder, PCOS, weight loss surgery), yet my bariatric team didn’t feel like any of that would matter.

I see a lot of posts on here from folks a few years post-surgery, like me, who have lost a lot of weight but are now on GLP-1s through their surgical/bariatric team. How were you able to get it approved despite being a lower weight and BMI and possibly having fewer weight-related diagnoses?
