OVULATION HURTS

So once a month, always ALWAYS during ovulation, I'm in pain. This has been going on for 6 to 8 months. It feels very "I'm getting an infection"-like but as soon as I'm done ovulating I feel back to normal with zero discomfort. Does this happen to anyone else?? I'm just wondering because talking myself off the ledge once a month is getting old. I had a traumatic battle with BV for about a year and half and now the slightest issue sends me spiraling.
