My old rusty gun
Old rusty gun
Stares at me
In the midst of night
Too settled
Raging away from comfort
Remember days with fighters
Killing armors, winning battles
My old rusty gun
As I lay down in sun
Now you weigh like guilt
Heavy, silent, worn
Cracked wood, fading metal
No trigger left to pull
You don't fire
But you echo
In my chest
Like something I buried
But never forgot
They called us brave
But we were just tired
Of dying slowly
So stay, old friend
Not to fight
But to remember
What we lost
When we won
(I never went to a war)
