Struggling with Stinkhorns???

I have all of the other mushrooms (besides the hidden ones) EXCEPT for the Octopus Stinkhorn. I'm not sure if I'm picking the wrong options in chapter 1 maybe? I have high quality and high dampness but I'm not even getting stinkhorns at all at this point. I tend to be picking creepy options and maybe thats part of it???
