Men- When you’re stressed out or at your limit, what actually helps you stay calm?
Anger, bottled or not, is usually a sign of stress or burnout. Testosterone can fuel drive but when it’s off, it can also ramp up irritability. That’s not an excuse to lash out, tho.
I saw this with my dad.. after work, home was where he let his guard down, and sometimes that meant his irritability spilled out. Now as a mom of two boys, I want to give them better tools than just “suck it up” and explode later.
My husband’s a great, present dad. He has his moments, but nothing like what I grew up with. We’ve talked, and with the boys still little, we’re figuring it out as we go.
So for the men here- what’s your early sign that you’re irritable? And what actually helps you reset before it turns into anger or something you regret?
