Real talk about draining pools
My pool is dark green. Like stagnant lake green. My pool now has tadpoles and some other semi-aquatic lifeforms living in it. My water has some bead blasting silica in the water. My water has copper which leached from the heat exchanger (heater is replaced but has not had water run through it yet). There are still debris at the bottom of the green lake-pool that needs to be removed from a recent repair.
It seems the most sense to drain the pool, clean out the debris, acid wash the copper stains and refill the pool. It's about 8000 gallons so something I could do in a single day. However I am concerned about the threat of floating my pool. Every pool contractor does not seem concerned. We are about 30 feet above sea level and has been raining about 1/4" every other day with sometimes a 2-4 day streak of no or little rain.
Give it to me straight. Should I simply replace the existing water, forget about the stains, and just use the pool vac to pick up the debris and pick the tadpole carcasses out of my skimmer and filter? Or would you drain and refill. Help me Reddit! Lol
