Connecting a NAS to my receiver? (program plus device?)

Purchasing USA

Hey all,

I've been reading a bit about this and can't seem to find a good answer.

Background: I recently pulled a Qnap ts 451+ with four 4tb drives out of storage. I had never set it up, but in the past couple days I set up the RAID and transferred my digital music library over to it.

If you were starting from scratch, what program and device(s) would you use to play (relatively) high-quality to an Emotiva BaSX Ta1? Is it Plex or some other multimedia player, and then a dongle or WiiM or firecube or something?

My Pixel phone will handle LDAC BT (and I assume my wife's IPhone can stream higher quality) but the Emotiva will only handle up to AptX HD? Is that going to be good enough? Playing Youtube to the Emotiva over BT often sounds like crap, but it's mostly songs for my 5 year old. Amazon Music over BT sounds better in many cases. So I'm not entirely against BT.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I would happily spend 100 to 150 on a dongle that serves as a forever solution that would play lossless audio. (Also happy to use an old fire tablet to act as the dedicated device to cue up the dongle/whatnot.)
