"Is it morally acceptable to do a small wrong for a greater good? Or is morality absolute regardless of consequences?"

A philosophical perspective on the topic of "Ethics"

Ethics... everyone has there own meaning of ethics, it's not fixed and there is no law that you can call this ethical and that is non ethical. Humans only made restrictions to some act of their fellow humans to stop them causing Chaos. Now first let us talk about the ethics that already exist in this world. According to universal law if you harm someone it's unethical and if you help someone it's ethical. Okay. Good. But this law is made from the first person perspective. What about the second person perspective. For example, imagine a scenario where a crowd is beating a person who stolen some money from a women. From first person perspective that is that women whose money is stolen this act is unethical wrong and illegal as mentioned in the constitution of that nation written by humans for their fellow humans to stop causing Chaos. Now if you see from the second person perspective the person who've stolen money, the person was hungry he was poor has 2 children and a wife to feed and his wife very I'll and can barely survive. What are your thoughts after hearing his side of story. Ofcourse pitty and sorrow you might want to lend him your own money out of pitty and try to help that poor man. But the women was unaware of his condition and she called police and crowd started beating him as they thought he was a thief. But in reality the man cannot think of any other choice other than stealing money from others. Now the police take him into custody and sentence him imprisonment for several days/days or month. After trial his punishment was reduced by some days or weeks and he still remain in jail. Others unaware of his situation and his family suffering. Lets stop the story here cuz this is the most realistic situation happens in this real world. Now I wanted to say that, that man wanted to do small wrong thing just to feed his family and had in mind that this is th first and last time he is doing this thing. According to the law stealing is unethical and illegal irrespective of your caste race and religion. Remember what I said above the law is made by humans. Was the man wrong wanted to feed his family ? No he was not wrong but stealing others money was wrong thing according to the culture humans have made. Otherwise many companies and organisations do the same thing but in a professional way so nobody knows and questions them. I want to say that ethics have different meaning for every person depending on their situation. If that man somehow not get caught and used that money for his family maybe his condition may have improved and he did not have stolen money after that in his entire life. But it was opposite and everything hone wrong. If you are trying to achieve something Greater good but you have to do one small wrong thing. I'm not one to say if it is good or wrong. But one thing I can say that it entirely depends on your surroundings and culture and how you execute it. If I was that man I would have definitely opted stealing money to feed my family if it cost my life if I had no other choice cuz this is human nature particularly survival of the fittest by darwin.
