Ideas for fixing detached rib?
Problem: one of the ribs next to the soundhole is detaching and making a super loud buzzing sound. It's an entry level Lucero acoustic from Guitar Center. See pic:
Thinking clean up the glue a bit, maybe even run sandpaper through the crack as much as I can manage, then squeeze in a bunch of titebond iii and clamp with one of my standard woodworking clamps big enough to reach. Probably put some soft padding underneath the clamp to protect the body. What do you all think?
Another idea is to insert a thin shim into the crack. I'm less sure about that one.
