Through the Wall AC Compressor stops after 5 mins
Unit is about 6 years old and outside the warranty. my building has just gotten all new sleeves and the unit has been in storage for 3 months. It seemed to be working at first once they put it in the new sleeve but the compressor turns off after 5-10mins. Filter looks clean, rear fins seem ok. Unit is a Friedrich 14000 BTU through the wall UniFit. There is a lot of rust looking substance in the back. Unit has likely been exposed to lots of rain since the sleeves are being replaced due to leaks. One other note is that the 220v socket was damaged during the demo of the old sleeve. the test+reset seems to work when the unit is plugged in.
I have 2 contacts who can come look at it for 100~$ but would be open to just purchasing a new unit and save the hassle. thanks in advance
