Low performance issue on PC: Low FPS with very low GPU/CPU usage in Minecraft and Fortnite and in any game!

Hi everyone,

For a while now, I’ve been experiencing a weird issue with my PC when playing Minecraft (using Feather Client) and Fortnite or any game, my FPS have dropped unexpectedly a lot sometimes between 90-120fps in Minecraft when i usually have over 160-170fps and 50-80fps in Fortnite when i usually have around 120-130fps. Without me changing anything important in the settings.

What’s strange is that when I check the hardware usage stats, the GPU is only using between 28% and 40% of its capacity, and the CPU doesn’t go above 26%. This is odd because if there was a bottleneck with the GPU or CPU, I’d expect usage close to 100%.

I have already tried

• Disabling V-Sync and FPS limits in the games.
• Making sure there are no heavy background processes.
• Monitoring temps and clock speeds with MSI Afterburner (everything normal, no thermal throttling).

But the problem still persists and I don’t know what else to do. I’m not sure if it’s a driver issue, launcher problem, or something with the OS.

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what could cause neither my CPU nor GPU to be fully used but the FPS still drop? Any advice on how to diagnose or fix this?
