i saw you after 6 months since our time has ended. we shared our heartaches and realizations. it was intimate, brief, and pure. i stared at your lonely eyes hoping to see my reflection, and was astonished to come to the conclusion that everything is better as is.

a lot has changed. your touch feels different, your scent is no longer familiar, your laugh sounds weird; it was all new.

i felt relieved that somehow we’re both ok. i admit, it’s melancholic, but also a hopeful moment. our strings are finally detached, our hearts no longer beating as one.
