What in the word

I know guys can joke around when friends with girls or siblings yada yada but this guy I’ve been talking to on and off for the past 2 years more off then on since he never ask to makes plans… we have plans tomorrow btw but anyways we were texting having casual conversation and he tells me he only treats himself on the weekends ( he didn’t want a damn ice cream bar and I was telling him to go for it) anyways so I’m like “oh you eat good all week and eat shitty on the weekends makes sense lmao” he responds with “ I didn’t say that asshole I said I treat myself on the weekends sometimes Jesus” 😳 My first thought was is he joking? Or being a jerk? He’s usually the joking type but he didn’t put “ lol” after so I responded with “ don’t get mad lol I eat bad on the weekends too especially in the summer” and he said “ I’m not mad lol”. I haven’t cause I’m kinda like wtf is with the asshole comment. He’s waiting for me to respond considering he just “haha” my last response when I didn’t write back in time ( which I think is freaking weird too)
