28M nerdy goth looking for a best friend/creative/music partner
hello there! i’m trying out posting on here again to see if i can find the right kind of friend i’ve been looking for.
i’m 28, very happily married, and live in the Southern US. i’m really into fantasy movies and books, medieval horror books, video games, trying to do different types of art like linocut block printing or digital art.
i’m also very much into music and want to start making it. i listen to a ton of different genres like goth, darkwave, post-punk, black metal, dsbm, shoegaze, and many many more. but as for the music i want to make, i definitely want to keep it a darker tone. i’ve been dipping my toe into dungeon synth, but i haven’t figured out what i want to do yet.
a major problem that i have when it comes to art/being creative is i feel like i have little to no inspiration to make anything, at least not like i used to when i was younger. i will inevitably end up starting at a blank screen or piece of paper and not have a single idea of what i want to make. i have the motivation and the drive, the will to make something i love. but i can never decide what that will be.
which i guess is why i’m posting here. i would love to be able to meet someone that i really connect with and share a lot of the same tastes and interests, a friendship where we can work on projects together, make music together, share ideas and bounce them off each other, show each other our art that we make.
i’m really not looking for casual chats or anything like that, i’m looking for something genuine and serious and meaningful. i’ve had a few conversations on here that seemed hopeful, but they either ghosted me or lost interest or the conversations never went anywhere. which is totally fine, i understand people won’t always click, and people have busy lives. but after lurking on here and sending out a couple of chat invites that didn’t get anywhere, i thought i would try and post myself, to see if there’s someone out there lurking that is looking for something similar to me.
