AM5 Upgrade Pathway or wait for AM6

Will AM5 mobos support the next generation or two of AMD CPUs?

I am currently on Intel 1700 with a 12600K and debating switching over to AMD because of the whole 13th/14th gen debacle; however, if the next AMD socket is more upgradeable I might just bite the bullet on the Intel 14700K sale and wait.
