Are houses in Washington state even affordable to the average person anymore

I’m not sure if this is the place to post but here goes I guess. I’ve lived in the Skagit Valley area in Washington State my whole life and I really want to stay since my whole life is here and I love it but I can’t tell if home ownership is even attainable anymore. I’m in college rn and have an internship with Boeing, just trying to save up as much money as I possibly can but I look at prices for some of these houses around here or even the surrounding counties and it’s just absurd. I know that we are a bit pricey compared to other states but my god it’s just crazy sometimes. Is there any chance of prices getting better or is it only up from here?
