extreme dysphoria affecting my day to day life
I’ve been out as a trans man for 3 years, on T for 2.5, and dysphoria has never had more than an average, expected effect on me. Recently I was able to (finally!!) change my legal name. But the hospital/provider I go to has a very long drawn out approval process for updating a legal name. This is not the case for my health insurance, which updated my legal name within 3 days. As a result I haven’t been able to get my T or my antidepressants in over 1.5 months. Not having my essential prescriptions along with rib and chest pain from binding has essentially resulted in an all-encompassing extreme dysphoria, especially in regards to my chest. I can’t bind because of my chest pain, KT tape pulls horribly at my skin and I can’t stand to wear it for more than a few hours, and its summer where I live so I can’t just wear a bunch of layers to hide my chest. Every time I have to leave my home I have extreme panic attacks, hyperventilating, crying and shaking. I feel so defeated and hopeless and trapped and I feel like I’m out of solutions.
Any advice for dealing with/distracting myself from my dysphoria would be really really appreciated. I don’t know how to deal with this while I wait for my prescriptions to go through.
