Unpopular Opinion: Y’all Expected Soulmates in Week One

This subreddit honestly made the season feel worse. Every day it’s like “they’re evil,” “they’re fake,” “they’re the worst,” when they’re just people making mistakes. Instead of letting it go, y’all drag things for weeks. It’s really not that deep. Let them live.

Taylor and Clark are clearly into each other. Their connection feels way more natural than Taylor and Olandria ever did.

Nic and Olandria seem genuinely smitten. Olandria has never been this affectionate with anyone, and Nic is being way more direct and intentional than he was with Cierra.

Amaya and Bryan are beautiful together. It’s finally someone giving her the same energy and matching her love language.

Ace and Chelly feel real to me. That rumor about them dating on the outside? Still no proof. And if they were, they wouldn’t have explored like they did. Ace has been consistent about wanting Chelly, and now that she’s reciprocating, it’s really sweet. Honestly, some of the skepticism they get feels racially coded.

Iris and Pepe are chill. Not my favorite, but I like them and want to see where it goes.

Huda and Chris are the only ones I’m unsure about. Chris avoids conflict and holds back in conversations, which reminds me of how Amaya’s past couples acted.

Also, remember when everyone kept saying “this isn’t Love Island” early in the season? Now look. Real connections are finally forming. It just took time. The slow start was because of Jeremiah and Huda setting this unspoken tone of loyalty and not exploring. The OGs got stuck, and even bombshells barely made moves. Now that people are getting dumped, everyone’s actually choosing who they want.

Honestly, the fact that it took this long to get to real connections is proof that Love Island USA should be longer. Like 50 or 60 episodes, not 36. People are just now thinking for themselves and being real. In early episodes, no one really knows each other. That’s normal.

So next season, can Reddit chill with dragging the cast three episodes in? Let it breathe. It always takes time. It was just worse this season because of the tone Jeremiah and Huda set.
