Do Women Truly Feel More Unsafe After Interim Took Over?

Hasina was still in power when I last lived in Bangladesh; therefore, I don't know how society is now. My girlfriend living there claims women's safety has degraded, particularly for girls who wear Western clothing.

I am sceptical of such a statement because her Awami-sympathising parents got her to believe that Awami League were the lesser of all evils. BNP-Jamat ain't saints but as is often the case with supporters of political parties in our country, they'll blow the other side's misdemeanours out of proportion. She has always and continues to live a sheltered life, away from greater society. Commutes by car and primarily interacts with the "elites" of society.

Is the average woman truly unsafe, or is it just a manufactured fear with no real basis? Would love to hear what the apus have to say.
