Am I the only one who likes calypso

Yes i understand she is a horrible person and a pretty sure in the oddessy she’s a rapist or aleast implied to be I do think that makes her a monster. Poor ody 😭💀he just wants to go back to Penelope .

Like i think you can sympathize with a character with out excusing their actions. I feel bad that she was trapped on the island with no friends family or love or care .

But that does not excuse her forcing herself on ody Like yes she was lonely but that’s a horrible traumatizing thing to do to anyone.

I understand not understanding marriage or well anything .but ody made it clear he wasn’t interested in her at all and she just kept pushing. Yes she gave him food water and shelter etc but the whole point of a doing something for someone is to not expect something in return.

So calypso was very selfish and entitled on how she treated ody i think the girl needs therapy more than a partner.

I think it make sense to emphasize with ody as well as he is a victim of sexual assault/rape depending on the version and even if it’s not in the musical she still keep him captive for 7 years .

So I like her as a villain and I do sympathize with her being all alone for 100 years but I do not excuse her actions.
