Advice for New eBay Account: When to Start Selling?

Just created my first eBay account and I'm looking to start selling some items. I've come across a common warning that new accounts can sometimes get flagged or even banned if they jump straight into selling.

My question is, what's the recommended "waiting period" or best practice before I start listing my first items? Is there anything specific I should do in the interim to establish my account? Thanks for any insights!
