Is United’s Premium Plus worth $2,500+ more than ANA Economy for a Japan trip?
I’m flying to Japan this November and torn between two options:
• Option 1: ANA economy ($X)
• Option 2: United Premium Plus ($2,800 more)
Will be using chase points so the ANA would be covered and the $2,800 would be out of pocket.
I have United Premier Platinum status, so I’ll get perks like priority check-in, free bags, and lounge access either way, but I’m debating whether the comfort upgrade on United’s Premium Plus is truly worth the extra $2K over ANA’s regular economy.
I know ANA has one of the best economy products out there…good food, decent seat pitch, excellent service. On the flip side, United’s Premium Plus gives you a bigger seat, more recline, better rest, and maybe a quieter cabin. But… it’s still $2,800 more.
Has anyone flown both and can offer a real-world comparison? Is the seat upgrade and overall experience in Premium Plus that much better, or would you save the money and go with ANA?
