Unhappy plant

Edible Plants

I have a thimbleberry plant well three actually that I bought from someone and they shipped to me in great shape. They are young and a little straggly but looked great when I got them. I planted them underneath my Norwegian spruce tree that is almost 100 years old at this point so they get a lot of dappled sunlight and morning sun. I also added soil when I planted them to leaf mulch underneath the tree to enhance and moisturize the soil. They have a little fence around them and I used slogo Plus to prevent slugs or earwigs from damaging them. My problem is they're not happy they are being watered usually every other day though I just installed a drip hose system to give them more consistent watering. They are not getting too moisture. It's been very hot in my Midwest region and I don't know if that's why they are so droopy and sad or if they have transplant shock. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I want these little plants to thrive. I have dreamed of having thimbleberry plants since I was a kid and went to a camp where they were growing. I live in zone 6 and in an area where they are native but are more common slightly north in zone 5 and 4.
