Bayshore Train Station During Rush Hour?

Hey! How safe is the bayshore train station, from 4pm-ish to 6pm-ish? Is it safe to walk from the train station up to the nightlife area on Main Street? Just wondering if a cab is best, the area seems so nice but driving from Sunrise to Main Street looks a little sketchy at times.
